Critique: I stumbled upon this billboard advertisement on the web, its comical and intriguing. Coca Cola takes a regular coke ad but pulls the straw out of the billboard into the window of the building, giving the illusion that someone is drinking the coke from the ad. Its clever and visually seen from close up to afar. Being so large and “refreshing”, this makes anyone want a coke on a hot summer day!

Critique:  When i first saw this Nike ad, it automatically reminded me of the CTV (car in the wall ad) on Queen street. Nike is placing a giant soccer ball in a building giving the illusion that someone had kicked the ball and this is the power and strength of the Nike brand. Being placed  in a public location where pedestrians and cars pass by all the time and considering its large size, the ad is quite successful as it can grab anyones attention.

DHL Advertising: If there’s an address. we’ll find it.

Critique: This is an ad for the DHL mailing company, it is a mailbox in the middle of a  desert, with a tagline,”If theres an address, we’ll find it.” Its pretty self explanatory as in DHL will find any address including the most random and odd locations like the middle of the desert. A simple photographic scenery with the DHL tagline gets the message across.

Critique: An ad for the Art Clinic with the tagline , Nobody is born perfect, and Take a look at yourself and make the change gives an interactive view with audience. The audience looks at themselves in the mirror and observes their flaws where they can “fix” them at the Art Clinic. I dot really like this ad, it could be seen in a negative way as in the person looking at themselves in the mirror would make him/her self conscious. However the simplicity is very very well done and plays off the concept really well.

Critique: This is an ad for the company of Post-its. The phrase reads, “for the little things you’ll forget” relating to current dy situations, the guys in the ad posted a post it on the girls forehead to remember her name in the morning. Although funny for the audience of men, it is humiliating and harsh towards women. However, in my case i thought it was funny as it is complexity true!

Critique: These literacy campaigns ads were put up to express the social media vs books in the milwaukee library. Each ad is relatable to anyone especially people fo my age, such as “Put your face in a book” relates to Facebook, “You could be reading” relates to YouTube and “140 characters? try millions.” relates to Twitter, all of these in the same font style as the originals. These campaign poster are tagreted primarily towards people fo my age since we are the ones who use them most often.

Critique: This ad focuses on hunger in the streets of Israel thus reading “Too many people eat on the streets”.  The ad gives an illusion of the sewer being a plate rack (where we dry the plates), carrying the message of too many people are on the streets being hungry. this is a source of imagery with the use of the rack relating to the sewer. Its a clever ad and would be interesting to have it placed in other 3rd world countries like Chile.

Critique: This is advertisement for Elaine’s bagels promoting the flavoured bagels now available, in this one it is blueberry. The bagel and blueberry are incorporated together as one making it flavourful and I even crave it now! With the light purple background gives the blueberry/bagel a boost and the text is in bubbly font uniting it to the entire piece. targeting not only current people who eat at Elaine’s but anyone interesting ain a flavourful bagel for breakfast.
